About Taina
Taina started as a dancer in WaikiKi during 1970s. She was first a dancer/singer for the Al Harrington Show. Later she worked at the Hula Hut for 12 years as a dancer/photo model, dance captain/trainer, and finally as the singer MC of the Polynesian show. She worked herself up to the MC of a Polynesian show and then a singer in a dance band. She started entertaining after having four children which is very rare in show business
She has been teaching Hula and Tahitian since 1976. Her skills as a dancer and choreographer have been developed from great Polynesian dance masters.
During the 1980’s she became a model and principal actress in numerous commercials.
Taina’s talent as a dancer and instructor has been featured in an instructional hula video. From there she produced her own instructional videos on Hula and Tahitian dance. All videos were on the market by “Island Heritage”.
About Les Fernandez
Her talented husband wrote and produced most of her music in the videos. Both she and her husband also produced and entertained on the “Voyager Dinner Cruise Show” from 1997 until 2001. As a professional duo, they also perform all types of music from oldies, pop, to standards, and Jazz.
Les was also in several bands since childhood. His home band for many was called “Phase 7”. He plays guitar, piano, and saxophone.
Hawai’i Kidz Sing-A-Long teaches children:
1-Sing and understand Hawaiian words. A vocabulary of 23 Hawaiian words.
2-Learn fun-filled expressions of Hawaii’s culture.
3-Children will learn a consisting of vowels and numbers – hula terms and instruments – popular expressions.
